More than 80 percent of breast disorders are not cancerous. However, your chance for developing breast cancer increases as you get older. That’s why examinations are so important—and where you get your mammogram makes a difference.

Mercy's newly-renovated Bishop John R. McGann Radiology and Imaging Center features the latest state-of-the-art technology and enhanced amenities that include a spacious, airy reception area designed to provide patients with a bright, cheerful environment, along with a new private waiting area of Women's Imaging patients.

Mercy Medical Center offers a comprehensive multidisciplinary team approach to women’s health with screening, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care all in one place. Our Breast Health Services center is staffed by highly educated and certified technologists accredited by the American College of Radiology, using the very latest equipment:

  • 2 full field digital mammography Hologic Selenia units with CAD (computer aided detection)
  • iCAD total look unit which allows a women’s previous film mammography exams to be scanned and loaded onto the radiologists workstation for comparison
  • New & fully equipped Multicare Platinum Stereotactic breast biopsy system

All images and reports are available to the physicians via computerized PACS (Picture Archiving Communication System).
