Highlights of the Operating Suite:

• Nine operating rooms, one cystoscopy room, and a larger space for ancillary support services, such as patient holding and equipment storage
• PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) provides space for twelve patients in recovery; allowing improved patient observation and support space including centralized cardiac monitoring, patient bathrooms and a contact isolation room
• Full-service surgical services (excluding open heart surgery and transplants)
• All Operating Room nurses and technicians are educated on, and experienced with, all new equipment and procedures being used in the Suite
• Instruments and equipment are available to facilitate minimally invasive and advanced laparoscopic surgery
• Two of the rooms have been designed with more space for orthopedic services, specifically for total hip and knee surgery
• State-of-the-art laminar flow system provides HEPA filtered airflow around the surgical field in each Operating Room
• All rooms are equipped with monitors on mobile shelves to display the surgical case in progress
• All new Operating Room lights, which are camera ready, allow viewing of the surgical field
• Four select rooms are outfitted with equipment rooms, which hold equipment such as monitors, cautery, insuflator, etc; these rooms provide easy access to gases and electrical outlets
• Four lasers (Holmium, CO2, Argon, Iris) are available for select surgical procedures requiring this technology
• Two rooms equipped with a new voice-activated system which allows surgeons control over virtually all of the equipment in the room, as well as, the ability to communicate with other departments such as laboratory and radiology
• New computerized pneumatic tube provides rapid access to the laboratory, pharmacy, and histology
• Physician dictation room equipped with three computers
• Televisions offer additional patient comfort as patients wait in the holding room
• Beautifully appointed family waiting room adjacent to the surgical area

Enhancements for patient comfort, convenience and privacy:

• A New Ambulatory Surgery Unit
• Provides 27 pre-admitting/post-recovery spaces and ancillary functions adjacent to the new operating suite
• A New Endoscopy Suite
• Houses five procedure rooms incorporating the most advanced equipment anywhere
• A New Sterile Instruments Processing Area with all state-of-the-art sterilization equipment
