Mercy Sets Christmas Tree Lighting For December 11th
(November 20, 2012 - RockvilleCentre, NY) - The Council of Leagues of Mercy Medical Center invites the community to join in the annual Christmas Tree of Lights celebration on Tuesday, December 11th at 7:00 p.m.
The ceremony provides the opportunity to recall the need to grow stronger together in our search for peace, with the Tree of Lights representing a beacon of hope and unity in our fragmented world. The blessing and lighting of the Christmas tree will take place in front of the hospital, followed by refreshments served in the Main Lobby.
Mercy's Christmas tree lighting is an annual fund-raiser that this year will support the Sister Mary Grace Education Fund that provides scholarships for students in financial need who are studying for careers in health care.
Lights can purchased for the Christmas tree in memory of a loved one, in celebration of a special event, or in honor of a special person, with remembrances recorded in a Tree of Lights book that will be displayed in the hospital's main lobby during the Christmas season.
A special mass will be held at 12:00 noon in the hospital chapel on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 for all those remembered in the Tree of Lights. To purchasing a memorial light or for information about the Mass, please call the League Office at (516) 705-1833.
