Beth Vlahavas, RN, MSN Appointed Vice President Of Patient Care Services And Chief Nursing Officer

pr20121002VPPatientCare(October 2, 2012 - RockvilleCentre, NY) - Mercy Medical Center has appointed Beth Vlahavas RN, MSN as Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).

Ms. Vlahavas, who resides in Smithtown and has been serving as Interim CNO since May, is a seasoned nursing professional with more than a decade of administrative leadership experience and nearly two decades of clinical expertise. And the quality of the nursing care provided under her leadership is one of the key factors in Mercy's recent designation by U.S. News and World Report as one of the top hospitals in New York State.

Ms. Vlahavas came to Mercy Medical Center in December, 2008 as the Nursing Director for the Emergency Department and Behavioral Health. She has a strong background in both of these areas, as well as deep experience in pediatrics, medical surgical, critical, and ambulatory care. Her previous experience includes fifteen years at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn.
