Mercy Medical Center Free Presentation On Osteoarthritis At Freeport Library

pr20120716_Bernadette_Roche(July 16, 2012 - RockvilleCentre, NY) - Mercy Medical Center invites the community to a free lecture about Living With Osteoarthritis to be presented at the Freeport Memorial Library on Tuesday, August 14th at 3:00 p.m.

The hour-long presentation will be given by Bernadette Roche, a Registered Nurse with nearly three decades of experience, who also is a certified Orthopedic Nurse and coordinator of Mercy's Joint Endeavor Program.

Osteoarthritis is a condition in which the cartilage covering the joint bones wears away over the course of aging, resulting in severe pain in weight-bearing joints such as the hip, knee and spine. The presentation by Ms. Roche will discuss treatment options, including joint replacement surgery and the Joint Endeavor Program's unique holistic approach in which patients and their families received education, supervised exercise, lifestyle evaluation and rehabilitation, before, during and throughout recuperation following surgery.

There is no charge for attending the presentation. Advance registration is recommended but is not required to attend.

The Freeport Memorial Library is located at 144 Merrick Road. For registration, travel directions and information, call the Library Reference Desk at 516-379-3274 ext. 505 or by e-mail at: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
