250 Supporters Turn Out For Friends Of Mercy Medical Center St. Patrick’s Dinner
Event Highlighted By Presentation of 2011 Fund-Raising Proceeds of $310,000
(March 28, 2012 - RockvilleCentre, NY) - A new venue and an esteemed Honored Guest drew nearly 250 attendees to The Friends of Mercy Medical Center's 46th Annual Gentlemen's St. Patrick's Dinner.
Held for the first time at The Garden City Hotel, the March 15th black-tie event honored Representative Pete King, who represents the Third Congressional District and serves as Chairman of the Homeland Security Committee and as a member of the Financial Services Committee and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. He was introduced by former U.S. Senator Alfonse D'Amato, founder and Managing Director of the public policy and business development firm Park Strategies, LLC.
Dr. Alan Guerci, the Mercy's president and CEO, was presented with a check for $310,000 representing the proceeds of The Friends 2011 fund-raising efforts. In the past five years. The Friends have raised some $1.5 million to support of the hospital's facilities.
The event was chaired by the immediate past-president of The Friends, Dr. Daniel Murphy of Garden City, Mercy Medical Center's Director of Emergency Services and Senior Director of Patient Care Operations, and was sponsored by Neurological Surgery, PC, the largest private neurosurgery practice on Long Island.
