Dr. Aaron Glatt Appointed Chief Administrative Officer At Mercy Medical Center
(November 4, 2011 - RockvilleCentre, NY) - Aaron E. Glatt, MD, has been appointed executive vice president and chief administrative officer (CAO) at Mercy Medical Center. The Woodmere resident comes to Mercy from St. Joseph Hospital in Bethpage, where he has served as president and chief executive officer (CEO) since 2007.
Dr. Glatt succeeds Nancy B. Simmons, RN, MS, who has been appointed executive vice president and chief administrative officer at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, after serving in that capacity at Mercy since 2005. Mercy, St. Joseph and Good Samaritan are all part of Catholic Health Services of Long Island.
Dr. Glatt, who resides in Woodmere, earned his medical degree from Columbia University, is board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases, and is the author of more than 200 articles, book chapters and abstract presentations.
He has been professor of clinical medicine at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York since 1998, and previously served as associate dean and director of graduate medical education at that institution.
Dr. Glatt also is a spokesperson for the Infectious Disease Society of America and is a well-known scholar and lecturer.
