Nursing

Professional nursing practice at Mercy is grounded in a rich history of the healing and caring practices of the Congregation of the Infant Jesus. Three of their members traveled from France in the early 1900's and established Mercy Hospital in 1913. The nurses of Mercy Medical Center continue the healing ministry of those brave women.

nursingMercy nurses value compassionate loving care that is evidenced-based and provided by a highly competent, professional staff. Nursing at Mercy is holistic, placing the patient and family at the center. We strive to ensure the highest levels of patient safety, comfort and satisfaction through Hourly Rounding, with nurses checking on each patient each hour to provide continuous monitoring and assistance.

The model of care at Mercy engages the patient/family in therapeutic relationships addressing the human responses to illness and health, promotion of wellness, patient education, and spirituality including sensitivity to cultural issues. Nursing care at Mercy strives to maximize the patient's quality of life across the entire life span. Career opportunities range from NICU to Adult Acute Rehabilitation.
