Mercy Medical Center Dedicates Newly-Renovated Radiology and Imaging Center
(May 28, 2009 – Rockville Centre, NY) – Mercy Medical Center has opened a newly-renovated radiology and imaging center featuring enhanced amenities and the latest state-of-the-art technology.
With Rockville Centre mayor Mary Bossart, community leaders, physicians and staff looking on, Monsignor Francis J. Caldwell, Chaplain of The Friends of Mercy Medical Center, blessed and re-dedicated the Bishop John R. McGann Radiology and Imaging Center.
The May 27th ceremony also acknowledged The Friends of Mercy and the Mercy Council of Leagues for generous contributions that supported the acquisition of new equipment and the enhancement of patient amenities.
Amenities upgrades at the McGann Center include a spacious, airy reception area designed to provide patients with a bright, cheerful environment, along with a new private waiting area for Women's Imaging patients. With recent equipment acquisitions, the Center offers the most advanced technology available, including new digital mammography, as well as ultrasound and stereotactic breast biopsy.
Mercy's Department of Radiology and Imaging is accredited by the American College of Radiology and offers the highest level of care and service in the area of diagnostic imaging, as well as therapeutic and consultative services to doctors, inpatients and outpatients. The range of services offered includes general diagnostic radiology, Computed Tomography (CT) scanning, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), digital mammography, bone density, interventional angiography, nuclear medicine and ultrasound.
