Breastfeeding Classes and Support Group |
Mercy Medical Center offers a preparation class for breastfeeding that discusses techniques, problem solving and continuing breastfeeding; taught by Mercy's Nurse Lactation Specialist who will follow you after delivery. Classes are held on the 1st Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The fee is $30. Mercy also offers -free of charge- a weekly Breastfeeding Mothers Support Group. The 90-minute sessions are conducted each Tuesday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Both the classes and support group meetings are held in the Childbirth Education Room on the first floor of the St. Anne's Center.
